Community Development was last Thursday at WKCTC
This past Thursday Paducah City hosted a workshop with Incremental Development to train citizens how to make scalable improvements to community through small real estate rehab projects and affordable housing building. The workshop worked through each step of a project from ideation, site preparation and financing options.
James and Tosha Scott, owners of the former Farley Elementary, attended along with Jessica Lambert in the hopes of generating new ideas for plans moving forward.
The detail in the steps to take on a project really helped us to better organize the large project we have taken on and gave me more clarity and confidence to carry out our plans.
Jessica says, “Their ideas for affordable housing were amazing and much needed in our area. I hope we can bring those ideas to Farley!”
Events
This month is all about those candy filled eggs! Farley Community Center is also planning a Solar Eclipse viewing party for April 8th to view the eclipse together. We are looking for food trucks, craft vendors, groups to host activities for kids and sponsors. More in depth information soon!
